A plea to journalists covering @RishiSunak's migrant plans to be rigorous in their analysis and explanation of this:

1) The government has *already* criminalised people seeking asylum on arrival. The Nationalities and Borders Act came into force on 28 June, 2022. 2) The law has been widely criticised, is in contravention of the UK's long held international obligations and open to legal challenge.
