The Big Ten is, indeed, in the *very* early stages of discussing the idea of a 28-team College Football Playoff model, source confirms to @NBCSports (as ESPN reported).
Would eliminate conference championship games & have most spots designated per league.
The idea was described to me as 7 spots for Big Ten, 7 spots for SEC, 5 for ACC, 5 for Big 12, 2 G5, 2 at-large. First two rounds would be played on campuses. First round could be played during the current conference championship weekend.

Rutgers is set to receive — and accept — a bid to the Gator Bowl to face Wake Forest, a source confirmed to @TheAthletic. Rutgers has highest APR score among 5-7 teams & just needs the NCAA football oversight committee to rubber stamp this on Thursday. RU will replace Texas A&M.
This will be the most prestigious bowl game that Rutgers has ever played in.
