If you understand the Valmiki Ramayana evidence, then you understand:

1. Rama and Sita were of the same age.
2. They were 16 when they married
3. They were 17 when they left for Vanavas.

Yet, most commentators of the last 400 years have created confusion beyond imagination! Raja Dasharatha states…

My greetings to all of you on the day of Vijayadashami

While Vijayadashami is used to recall many heroic events of the glorious history of Hindu civilization, historically speaking there is no connection between Ashwin Shukla 10 (Vijayadashami) and Ramayana.

(1/n) Ravana was killed on Chaitra Amavasya. (6 January 12208 BCE)

Rama arrived at the Ashrama of Sage Bharadwaj, from Lanka on Vaishakha Shukla Panchami (12 January 12208 BCE)

Rama met Bharata on Vaishakha Shukla 6 (nakshatra Pushya) , i.e. on 13 January 12208 BCE.

Greetings to all on the first day of Navaratri celebrations.

@mmpandit asked me:

"Is it still your contention that the Mahabharata war started on Jyestha Amavasya (in 5561BCE)?"

(1/n) @mmpandit My response:

"It is my assertion that the Mahabharata War began on 16 October 5561 BCE (Julian reference calendar) and the day was that of Amavasya.

Nothing more. Nothing less."

An assertion must be always backed by evidence.
