Thread on the complicated mess that is the live action Lilo and Stitch
The original movie means a lot to me, so buckle in for this dissection of this new iteration on what it gets right and wrong.
Starting with the good and working our way through it.
Stitch was 1:1 pretty amazing, Chris Sanders hasn't lost his touch and he excels in this, having new antics to do while also retaining some classic ones. He as a character was great...but
The lack of the ugly duckling story being told in this was very much missed, the ugly duckling is the base of the story of him and that not being here also robs us of the "I'm Lost" moment.
Lilo and Stitch at the core of it is a found family story and throughout the live action that message is very much lost and its impacted Stitchs character by leaving out things like the Ugly Duckling, Lilo talking to him about her parents death, them saying goodbye to one another, Stitch explaining what Ohana is and Stitch doesn't even reveal that he is an alien to Lilo. Leaving out these things hurts the story and his characters growth.
Out of all the characters though, he retains the most of his charm and I am happy he wasn't uncanny to look at for two hours.

So thought I would make a #ACNH design tip sheet for you guys!
These are things I have noticed from designing many outfits and flags. The editor can offer you a lot of customization if you work around its mechanics and get creative!
1.) Standard basic shapes! I use most of these when I am making any outfit.
2.) adding thicker line borders (or removing some pixels)/other colors can create a variant of shapes/designs as well to your simple shapes!

A thread about Tangled no one asked for and why I love it
Tangled will forever be my favorite 3D animated movie for its subtle but impactful portrayal of a manipulative/emotionally abusive relationship with your family. I had a less than favorable upbringing, so I relate to this
I've seen people try and defend Gothels character saying she did care for Rapunzel but I really doubt that personally. Gothel is nice to Rapunzel but not specifically to her, she is nice to her hair. When Gothel ever shows positivity towards her it is directed to her hair.
