IELTS Writing Task 2
The main body of your essay is the most important part and requires the most thought. In this lesson I give you some checklists of things to think about as you write, or before you write, the main paras.
It is good to focus on what you are trying to do before you write, but there is a danger that you will “confuse yourself” if you try and think of too many things. If so, remember just this: your writing score is
25% Task response
25% Coherence and Cohesion
25% Vocabulary
The writing component of the IELTS exam is designed to assess how you “write a response appropriately, organise ideas and use a range of vocabulary and grammar accurately. It comprises two tasks and candidates have 60 minutes to answer them".
Candidates usually dread the writing test, which is an understandable feeling because writing isn’t something you can self-study and any progress can only be marked by a teacher.
1. How much time is there to read the questions?
Answer: Each section begins with up to 30 seconds to preview questions. There will usually be one more short break in the recording to preview further questions. 2. How many times will each listening passage be played?
Answer: The listening passage is played just once.
Persons have asked me to know about PTE, I'd do a thread now, to give some information.
The Pearson Test of English.
PTE Academic is a computer-based academic English language test aimed at non-native English speakers wanting to study abroad.
It tests Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Questions often test 2 skills together, such as listening and reading or reading and speaking. The whole test is done in a single session, lasting 3 hours and is taken sitting at a computer in a secure test environment.
