You’ve never seen this before. It’s a newly-unearthed color photo of Joe Strummer running the 1993 London Marathon and until an hour ago I didn’t know it existed and I FUCKING TOOK IT!!!

#joestrummer #TheClash This was at Blackheath Common before the race. I was sent by Rolling Stone (one of only two or three jobs they ever gave me). Drove over from my house in Clapham. Parked. Got out in the rain. 30,000 people. And there was Joe. Brilliant.
