It is infuriating, though not at all shocking, how suddenly valuable my voice is after tragedies like yesterday’s mass shooting to folks who have mostly diminished or erased my work on local gun violence. I will of course write about Texas – at some point. But not today. (1/?) Today I want everyone to understand that for every child killed yesterday there are countless others – the survivors – who will have to navigate horrific trauma for the rest of their lives.
