Weakening SEP rights isn't just about China stealing IP from US companies. China has been doing that for decades even with strong patent protections in the US. @MariaBartiromo isn't wrong here, but there's a bigger picture that's missing in this analysis.
(2/25) Weakening patent rights in the US, including SEPs, attacks the most fundamental profit motive that makes R&D possible (and financially viable) in the first place.
(And no, don't curl your nose at the word "profit." This isn't about oil companies and landlords fleecing us.)
