Thread by @boothheather got me thinking. When Oklahoma City bombing happened, laws were passed & policies changed IMMEDIATELY. No daycares in and increased security in federal buildings. White House streets were blocked off. FOREVER. The *White House* was deemed unsafe. 1/ Organizational changes were made regarding and within the FBI. An anti-terrorism task force was formed. The FBI upgraded facilities & resources. Clinton initiated the Anti-Terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act to enhance penalties for terrrorism. This was one event. 2/
