1) I was grateful this morning to be invited by Matthew Wright onto @LBC to discuss the internationally significant killing of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi by the IDF. But I was sad not to be given time to mention the analogous case of Tom Hurndall, who was shot in Rafah in April 2003... 2) Hurndull was shot in the head by an IDF sniper in what appear to be near identical circumstances. As with Aysenur, the sniper was 150 metres away, and ballistics experts were adamant that at that instance there could have been no doubt about intent to kill...

Here is Vanessa Feltz closing me down on Talk TV after I said that Israeli politicians engaged in 'genocidal talk'. She insisted this was "not accurate or true" and ended the discussion. Tragically there are many examples, led by Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu: "You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible", invoking Prophet Samuel’s order to “go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have; do not spare them, but kill both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.”

Today I am starting to publish a detailed, annotated record of the lies, falsehoods and misleading statements made by Boris Johnson and colleagues dating back to his appointment as prime minister in July 2019. They are available here:

boris-johnson-lies.com This website documents how Johnson and his ministers have persistently deceived the British people about the great issues of our time: above all Covid and Brexit. For the next few weeks I will be publishing new lies, falsehoods and and fabrications most days.

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9… The Mail reports that "According to a labyrinthine money trail established by the Daily Mail, the £60,000 bill from upmarket interior designer Lulu Lytle's Soane Britain company arrived in June, and the Cabinet Office refused to pay up."

"When Mr Johnson was told he would have to pay the bulk of the cost of Miss Symonds’ designer makeover of their Downing Street apartment, he discussed asking Tory donors to help pay the bill." Simon Walters on Johnson at No 10.

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9… Also this from Walters' portrait of life in 10 Downing Street:

"Miss Symonds urged the Prime Minister to sack a female Whitehall official who refused to sign off a large taxpayers’ bill for her refurbishment of the Downing Street flat, including expensive wallpaper."

IN today's British Journalism Review cover story @cooke_millie and I expose the deafening media silence over the Julian Assange hearing, despite its momentous consequences for free speech and investigative journalism.

journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.117… We show how the @TheEconomist didn't bother to cover his hearing- but back his extradition regardless.
