@GeigerEmilyA Have you noticed that when we say "don't kill innocent humans", we're actually imagining already-born humans who can interact in society?
That's because "humans" has long been shorthand for members of society (members in ways that a fetus and other known species cannot be). 1/ @GeigerEmilyA You might imagine that the world's great social atrocities prove that society must ALWAYS judge membership based on DNA. I suggest that would be WRONG, and we haven't realized it because our society doesn't include a distinctly different species with equal cognizance. 2/
