In status quo psychiatry, "The power to coerce is what excuses the lack of valid knowledge" Bruce Levine (psychologist, author, academic) quotes David Cohen (professor of social Welfare, author). Scared people create scapegoats. Psychiatry formalises and scientises this. Image Often the thing scaring 'people' is their own shadow. By not making a conscious effort to understand what that is, they project their fears on other phenomena that they don't understand and in doing so do harm. Biomedical psychiatry facilitates this. Society is complicit.

The example of Alan Turing popped up in a conversation about sexual dysfunction caused by antidepressants. *It's a huge risk from the first pill, can be permanent and your doctor won't warn you.* Some lessons from his experience in a thread. 1/ Alan Turing was a national hero when homosexuality was punished by imprisonment.
