2003 - INEC declares Chris Ngige of the PDP the winner of the Anambra 2003 gubernatorial election.
A relatively unknown Peter Obi of APGA goes to court to challenge the decision.

2006 - After 3 years in court, the Court of Appeal overturns Ngige's victory & declares Obi winner. 2006 - On the 17th of March, Peter Obi was sworn in as the Governor of Anambra
