“On Saturday, two nuclear-capable B-1B Lancer bombers..”

Wrong, @nytimes I know this is my annoying schtick. Why? Because getting the facts right on what exactly the U.S. is flexing here (or not) matters

The word Неминуче most closely corresponds to "no matter what" or "inevitable," which are close synonyms to "imminent." But it’s not quite the same, and we’re told there isn’t a single Ukrainian word that conveys the meaning as it does in English. >

politi.co/3rSWr1q Seriously, we checked with native Ukrainian speakers. (✋).

So when Biden’s team might genuinely mean “soon,” Zelenskyy hears U.S. officials effectively say “there will be an invasion regardless of what we do.”

"It's a moot point," Vantiger said of what it would cost, or what it would take to make the B-1 nuclear capable again.

But is it impossible?

"Anything is possible with money and time," he said. "But it's nothing the U.S. government is looking to do."

Do you fly the T-1 Jayhawk trainer? You probably won't in the next few years as the Air Force is working to downsize its fleet and put airmen through more VR simulation instead. My latest:

Air Force to Cut Use of Jayhawk Trainer, Rely More on Simulators military.com/daily-news/202… The experiment to instead use a program called UPT 2.5 comes as the service faces a number of problems as it tries to boost its pilot ranks: a yearslong pilot shortage, backlogs within some of its training pipelines, and the coronavirus pandemic.

On Hallmark rn: Murder, She Wrote. Jessica Fletcher has been called in to investigate the crash of the “Dixie Damsel” aircraft in Alaska. (Prob riffing off the real crash in Colony Glacier in ‘52). But the families of those on board think the Air Force is hiding something.
Oh boy Jessica’s acquaintance who calls her after years of neglecting their friendship: Jessica, I need a favor. I need you to come to Alaska

Jessica, who lives *literally* on the other side of North America in Maine: OK!
