thinking of these words from rav yoel kahn zt'l as a i stare at this picture:

"In the leadership of the Rebbe, of blessed memory, one could tangibly see two intertwined dimensions. On the one hand, the Rebbe cried out and deeply lamented the spiritual and Torah decline of the Image generation, waging a strong and unwavering battle against any compromise, even on the smallest detail of Jewish law. Yet, at the same time, he never waged war against any individual Jew. The Rebbe opposed ideologies that conflicted with Judaism, not Jews themselves.

Moreover,

kavanos for sukkos from rav moshe wolfson zt’l:

The four species correspond to the four letters of Hashem’s name.

The haddasim are shaped like a yud, the aravos correspond to the first heh, the lulav is shaped like a vav and the esrog corresponds to the last heh.

When we Image take hold of the lulav, we are “holding” Hashem in our hands and we can ask Him for whatever we want.

When we shake to the right, the side of Chesed we can beg Hashem to shower us with his chesed – חֶסֶד אֵל כָּל-הַיּוֹם, Hashem your chesed is all day every day, please shower

if you have a moment, please read this story featuring the minchas elozor of munkatch zy'a:

In the final year of his life the Minchas Elozor took the shofar on Rosh Chodesh Elul and tried the horn to see if it was in OK condition. Hershelle was in the room then and Image was very visibly excited with the shofar and its sounds; he asked his zeide (grandfa-ther] for "noch ein blooz," one more blast, which his reide gladly obliged. From then on, for the next month, this became a ritual; the Rov blowing once for little Hershelle.

it's the week of parshas emor so we have to learn this important torah from the izhbitzer zy'a

here's an english translation: "say (Emor) to the Cohanim, the sons of Aharon, and you shall say to them, do not make yourselves impure from the dead of your people.” (Vayikra, 21:1)

Cohen represents the servant of God who sees all actions in the world as a result of the direct involvement (hashgacha) of God.

there's an amazing purim torah from the shem mishmuel zy'a and i want to share it.

the gemara in gittin says that the grandsons of Haman taught Torah in Bnei Brak.

How did Haman HaRasha merit bearing descendants who taught Torah? Image the Shem MiShmuel zy'a writes that it is because Haman had one moment of emunah.

The Midrash (Esther 10:5) states, "When Haman led Mordechai on the king's horse through the city's streets, what did Haman the rasha say?

rav weinberger once shared an amazing story about rebbe aharon of belz zy'a:

The Belzer Rebbe was a tzaddik yesod olam. When he escaped Europe, he settled in Tel Aviv. Not Yerushalayim, not Bnei Brak, Tel Aviv. Image A bunch of the elder chassidim came to ask the Rebbe to come to Yerushalayim. What was he doing in Tel Aviv? The Rebbe wouldn’t hear any of this. Groups of chassidim would come to be with him for Shabbos. It happened that one time one of the chassidim was upset…

a conversation with rav mendel futerfas zy'a:

What was it like in the [Soviet] labor camps?

They were days of light.

Are you speaking euphemistically?

No, I mean it simply. Those were the most inspiring days of my life.

How so? Image Throughout my life, I always felt a battle between the material and the spiritual. In the labor camps, there was no battle. My life was all spiritual. All I had to do was learn Torah and daven (pray).

I don't understand. You didn't have to work?

the rebbe rashab was once challenged by a devoted chassid regarding the rebbe’s seeming preference to laud the qualities and disposition of simple folk. the chassid had, in the rebbe’s presence, wondered aloud why the tzaddik wouldn't extoll the greatness of the scholars among them.

knowing that this chassid was a jeweler by trade, the rebbe asked him to display an array of gems and proceeded to examine each one care-fully. picking up a large, shiny diamond, the rebbe exclaimed, "ah! this must be the most valuable one!" not
