Shaming Debbie and her husband for living in a one room apartment and not having things like a new mattress and microwave really hurt me.
We act like we are a rich country, forgetting that alot of people are actually poor.
Debbie and her husband are university graduates and are struggling to make ends meet tells you the stark reality of the country we live in.
So you think you are better than her because you have a mid level managerial role and can afford a 2 bedroom in ologolo with a small Rio on the side.
You believe you have arrived, forgetting that it takes one sack, sickness, or a misstep to send you back to ground zero.

I just met the most interesting 22year old.
I took an uber out and a 22year old female 300level student of unilag came to get me.
We had the most interesting conversation for the duration of our trip.
I'd come back to complete this thread
So I always sit in front of any car I'm in because if I don't get a proper recline I start to have headaches.
She broke the ice by saying my perfume smelt good and we started chatting.
She was so animated and very articulate

It was a no brainer as regards subsidy, it needed to go.
If we take a cursory look at history, we have been paying monies that would have gone to critical sectors on fuel subsidies.
Under OBJ - 812billion
Yaradua - 794billion
Gej - 3.9trillion
Buhari - 11 trillion
What needs to happen now is the federal govt will also need to show goodfaith by reducing its waste
We cant bear the brunt of subsidy and you keep bogus overheads and recurrent expenditures.

A lawmaker beheaded in Anambra State and its almost like it didn't happen
Like do we only respond to tragedies when they happen in certain regions of the country? as this is the second beheading in the space of 3 months
@Mr_JAGs By the time the insecurity has a foothold in the SE.
Alot of people won't be able to even travel home for festivities.
We see Videos of locals hailing these gun men when they carry out their atrocities.

Lagos made alot of people's dreams come through
Mine inclusive
Even though I was born here! Lagos gave me the opportunity to actually thrive.
It's not near where we want it to be as a state. But to constantly bash lagos like it's some forgotten slum is dishonesty
There is no state in Nigeria that will present you with the opportunities that lagos gives you as long as you are ready to hustle.

Been seeing alot of people use the breakup of Yugoslavia as a pointer for Nigeria and I laugh at how they are refusing to tell the full story
Because full story no go favour their narrative
So here it goes
After World War II, Yugoslavia was subdivided along ethnic lines into six republics and forcibly held together by Tito under communist rule.

The danger of fake news and unfounded conspiracies
Over the course of the past year alot of people have rallied against covid vaccines
Saying all sorts, from it being the mark of the beast to a monitoring chip and so on
Alot of informed people are now afraid to get vaccinated
People are saying they will wait to see if people who have gotten vaccinated have any side effects
And you can't blame them. A year of lies against a vaccine will surely have a foothold in your mind.
The vaccines have gone through extensive trials

The woman said I shouldn't give her money with my left hand
I asked her why
She said is disrespectful
I go I am trying to buy something from you, how does respect come in
She goes didnt my parents teach me not to give elders anything with my left hand
Then I ask her how old she is
She goes I'm a 30 year old married woman. You small small yahoo boys will believe you can be disrespecting people anyhow..
I'm angry at this point and amused

Not a fan of Gowon but I think our lack of history makes us believe anything people say
After the Murtala Muhammed Coup, General Gowon, far away in Kampala, had friends. Many offers of residence came to him in Kampala from various African countries.
He notified the new regime in Lagos that he would leave Kampala for Lome in Togo.

There are different kinds of sex work
1. There are the ones that stand on the road
2. The ones that have 9 to 5 Jobs that use sex work to beef up their earnings, these are the ones that get called up via referrals
3. The ones that work as strippers
4. The ones that don't have 9 to 5 gigs.
But don't stand on the road
These ones are always available for sex work 247 as long as you can pay their money 5. The ones who use social media, twitter, IG, Tinder and the likes 6. The curious ones who do sex work out of peer pressure

One thing I have come to see is that kids that have no love shown to them while growing up
Tend to be maladjusted adults.
Esp people who are overly controlling, they don't know how to love without conditions.
Because they weren't raised to do so.
So when they happen to like someone they try to always control everything.
Because letting go and loving someone without any precondition is like giving up their power
And it scares them.

We need to start asking deeper questions.
The Global best practice for policemen is that they carry out their work within the ambit of the law.
And said law constantly provides for them the power to arrest, search and detain based on probable cause.
Now in Nigeria, the apprehension is very valid. Owing largely to the fact that the police constantly operates outside the ambit of the law.
Illegal raids
Extrajudicial killings
Brutality and Torture
Planting of evidence and so on.
So our fight should actually be .....

Alot of people want to live like westerners
They want to be left alone.. forgetting that its a strong sense of family& community that got u to where u are today
When u moved abroad, ur uncle who is really not related to u came from his overnight shift to pick u from the airport
He is your uncle because, he used to live on your street and attend your church before he relocated.
He will give you a place to stay. Drop you off at the bus station and squeeze 200 dollars into hand from the small overtime pay he collects from his contractor job.

I recently came across an app called "Trove" @trovefinance
Which allows you buy shares in American companies
So you from Nigeria, you can buy stocks in companies like Amazon, Tesla, Facebook and the likes..
The interface is so neat and very self explanatory
You can search for whatever stock or company you are interested in
