The misreporting of recent votes in Parliament on sewage & rivers would be comical if it weren't so dangerously inflammatory. [Thread]
When we voted on storm overflows, we did not make it easier for companies to dump sewage in rivers.
I am strongly opposed to sewage overflows… into rivers. I have worked for years to solve this problem nationally and locally in Shropshire.
As Defra Secretary of State, I advanced and ensured the progress of the £4.2bn Thames Tideway super sewer to stop 39 million tonnes of sewage overflows annually. …
