FEMA Within NORTH CAROLINA 2024
Multiple locations of FEMA presence within North Carolina after Helen. Not a lot of photo / video support but there is some.

FIRST…
I see a lot of complaints about what FEMA is doing, if they are on the ground vs what is expected of them.

FEMA pushes a lot of $$$ into small businesses, contractors, etc so partnerships between FEMA and others do exist.

We also know FEMA funds faith based, houses of worship as well as secular nonprofits through PA Program and others.

When FEMA says things like, “our centers” the question should be directed to those for and non profit entities, are they taking funds from FEMA? If so, would they not be considered part of FEMA operations?

Statesville, Cherokee, Black Mountain and Tryon. Claims of Asheville and Brevard, I do not have pictures of those locations. Black Mountain pictured.

Not sure why they are in Statesville other than damages occurred into the Piedmont of North Carolina due to Helene. This could just be to service the part of the state with claims. IDK at this point.

Lineman Kits - Helene Response

A request has been sent to help the linemen working in Western North Carolina. We are taking donations for “Lineman Kits” of various items that will fit into a 1 gallon ziplock bag for ease of storage due to their limited space. The lineman are sometimes the first responders to encounter those still isolated from Helene, these kits will be beneficial to the community.

But first, why are there delays in helicopter support when so so many areas are cut off from everything?

Military helicopters, search and rescue, sitting at the airport just waiting for orders to come through? Title 10 from the WH?

Niké - Winged Victory of Samothrace

More headlessness. As I eluded to in my video for the eclipse last fall, October 2023, I knew decapitation would be a theme this summer but had no clue how.

We now see the headless, armless representation of the Ancient Greek goddess Niké. Often seen with a trumpet as she was a messenger, spreading news of an athletic or military victory. Delivering the victors the symbols of winning, like crowns or trophies.

Heralding from Samothrace, the Sanctuary of the Great Gods of Greece, and where mystery cult initiates hoped to obtain divine protection. Sailors needed much protection from the sea.

Victory is believed to be approaching the bow of a ship, after descending from heaven, mid storm. Winged Victory of Samothrace was found in pieces, parts reconstructed, and on display in the Louvre since 1884.

Niké of Samothrace is significant as she is one of the few original Hellenistic sculpture, rather than a Roman copy, that survive.

She is said to have inspired French sculptor Abel Lafleur in creating the FIFA World Cup’s trophy in her image, 1929.

You probably guessed this one, Carolyn Davidson rebranded the Blue Ribbon Sports Company in 1971 by renaming Nike. Adding her wing “swoosh” to their infamous logo.
