The advantages to a non-public action are almost entirely lost when it is held right outside of a police precinct. The mass arrests tonight by the PPB are completely fucked, and they make it all the more important to consider how tactical choices can impact such police response: A non-public direct action necessarily sacrifices strength in numbers in return for taking the police by surprise. The police are unaware of the action, and so cannot respond to it effectively. We can best push this advantage by acting and moving swiftly and decisively.

This is not the time for able bodied white people to only share what is going on in Portland on social media.
Simply put; if you’re able to be in the streets, you need to be.
It’s been held down for 52 days straight, there aren’t many excuses you can make. If you genuinely are unable to join a protest here are some ways you can help:
•If you live in the area of a march, leave out food and drinks for protests, drop off barricade materials if you can too.
•Donate to @riotribs, @pdxgdc or @defensefundpdx.

Many are happy with Minneapolis announcing it is working to abolish the MPD. On the surface this seems like everything us abolitionists could want, and there is no doubt some valuable reforms will be made. However this isn't abolition and it is dangerous to treat it as such. We recognize how state violence is inherently linked to hierarchies such as white supremacy & capitalism. Hierarchies require violence/the threat of violence to function, & history has shown that the groups at the top of hierarchies have *never* voluntarily given up their power.
