The Noor solar power plant in Morocco, largest is Africa, uses 2.5-3 million m³ of water/yr. Back-up fuel needs for the Ouarzazate complex have been estimated at 19T/day of gasoil for a capacity of 500 MW, proving once again that there is no "renewable" energy without oil & gas.

Despite the media fanfare surrounding the Noor Solar Complex begun in 2013 & now boasting 4 installations, imported fossil fuels including refined oil, gas and coal currently provide over 90 percent of Morocco’s energy needs, according to the World Bank.
