The House is a rich 1st century BC private domus, brought to light by 19th century excavations, attributed to Livia on the basis of the name Iulia Augusta engraved on a lead pipe displayed in the reception room. It is considered the residence reserved for Augustus’ wife.

📣 Exceptional discovery from the excavations at the Curia-Comitium (#RomanForum) [THREAD ⬇️]
An underground chamber has re-emerged next to the Curia-Comitium complex with a tuff sarcophagus of about 1.40 m in length, associated with a circular element, probably an altar. @dariofrance@museitaliani@_MiBACT@alfonsrusso@rogueclassicist@pompei79@DariusAryaDigs The context situated below the staircase leading to the #Curia, built in the 1930s, is preserved for its symbolic meaning by the Curia above and coincides with what the sources hand down as the 'post rostra' point (behind the republican Rostra).
