As of May 29, the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement has stopped covering the cost of education and recreation for unaccompanied minors, according to officials in Yolo County, Calif. This move is in direct opposition to the federal government's requirements under the long-standing Flores settlement, according to local officials, who are sorting it out now. yolocounty.org/general-govern…

Today in federal court, lawyers filed dozens of statements from children detained at the unlicensed mega-shelter in Homestead, Florida.

She says the manager told her boys like the bunks because "it feels like a slumber party."

Over the last month, ICE has piloted 90-minute DNA tests to prove that parents and children arriving at the border are related.

Last night ICE told contractors it's expanding the program: fbo.gov/index?s=opport… "Operation Double Helix 2.0" will run for at least 5 months at 7 locations on the southern border, with an option for another 5 months. ICE estimates running 50,000 DNA tests each period.
