I still don't know what Abe's assassination means for Japan or the region (and neither do you - be humble), but this is a first and very early crack at a few of the trends that could be in play and what to watch for:
First things first, I'm not going to speculate on what might be the immediate reaction to the shooter's motive. Authorities so far seem to be deliberately careful about sharing the religious organization in question and given the possible ramifications, that's probably good

Here’s the thing. It’s correct and important to point out Abe’s nationalism and attempts at revisionism. But you need to acknowledge that the chief and lasting accomplishments of his tenure were liberal rather than revisionist.
