On May 10th, 1940 Winston Churchill took over 10 Downing Street and became the British Prime Minister, pushing Chamberlain out in disgrace and forming a new “all party” government. On July 2, 1932 FDR gave his New Deal speech. President Roosevelt submitted his "Court Packing" proposal on Feb. 5, 1937. In his Fireside chat on March 9, he explained why the court was too conservative and its decisions harmed the country.
