🧵As many of you may know, I stepped down from the presidency of @MelbKnights a month ago. That was a decision more related to the game itself than it had to do with the club. I have stepped away from the game because its infested with people that lack vision and conviction.
I spent 13 years on the board, 6 six years consecutively as president & 10 years as a Federation zone rep. Now, considering that I am totally free to comment on matters as I see fit - you'll get some background on where the second division is actually at.

🧵Four years ago my club was in a high profile FFA Cup match against Adelaide United. A healthy crowd turned out at Somers St. for a great night of football. If you were at the game you would have left feeling that it was a good night for football.
Within hours of the match there were a few articles/blog posts and a bit of a twitter pile-on accusing our club's fans of being racist and that Mileusnic of Adelaide was vilified and targeted because of his Serbian background. The thing is that it didn't happen.

The old tried and tested Croatian = Nazi label. I suppose it sells papers and makes people feel superior even if it's totally fabricated.
I suppose I'll wake up to a few notifications from activists wanting to tarnish what was a great night for Sydney United, the Croatian community and soccer in general.

With the cards being laid onto the table from all sides - it's worth reminding people about the reality of where we find ourselves right now in relation to a National Second Division.
The @AAFClubs Working Group has put forward financial workings (which has been the main argument against a NSD from naysayers) about the viability of a second division. They're backed by industry research as well as current club financials and modest projections.
