#Ukraine: 2. The Syrian Army seems to have melted away, showing little resistance to the rebel tide, many Assad troops defecting. Assad's core Alawite sect (Shia Muslim like Iran) along the coastal strip were expected to support him, but in the end they defected too, many tearing down statues of Assad & his father.
#Ukraine: 2. Last night, RU launched a record 188 Shahed drones against UA. UA Air Force downed 76 drones across 17 regions & 95 were "lost" as a result of electronic warfare (EW) intervention. 5 drones flew on to Belarus. 2 people killed in Sumy region & 40 
#Ukraine: 2. In #Kursk region a 14km road is being called the "Road of Death" by Russians as it is under UA fire & drone control & is strewn with destroyed RU vehicles. RU's 155th Marine Brigade, accused of war crimes against UA POWs, suffered most damage.
#Ukraine: 2. Also in RU, the “Wildberries” warehouse at #Barnaul, with tanks nearby, was set on fire & burnt down. Cause of the fire is still unknown. In #Kursk region another turtle tank was eliminated:

#Ukraine: 2. The 2nd attack on RU ammo storage last night was at #Tikhorets, #Krasnodar region. Reports say missiles from #NKorea are stored there. Spectacular explosion (sound on!). Satellite pics indicate nearby #Tikhoretsk airbase is also on fire. 
#Ukraine: 2. RU officials said all was fine at warehouses nr #Voroshylov Bridge in #Rostov last night but videos tell a different story. UA forces destroy another hideout containing RU troops: 
#Ukraine: 2. UA forces captured 13 RU troops, 4 seriously wounded. The Russians had been fighting for 5 days & left without water & ammo, finally they raised the white flag. RU IFV drove over its own men in panic to avoid UA drone:

#Ukraine: 2. #UK media is reporting that UK has given UA permission to use Storm Shadow missiles for attacks against targets inside RU and that #US is now thinking along the same lines, especially if RU uses missiles from #Iran - BUT this has yet to be officially confirmed!
#Ukraine: 2. UA has successfully destroyed a RU ammo depot in #Ostrogozhsk, in RU's #Voronezh region. It is possible UA used a new missile drone called "Palyanytsia". More than 5,000 tons of ammo were stored there. 
#Ukraine: 2. Result of last night's 50 drone attack still to be made, RU claiming to have shot down 45. UA Intel says UA attack on RU's #Savasleika airbase, 400 miles NE of UA, Aug 16th, destroyed MiG-31 Foxhound interceptor & 2 Ilyushin Il-76 transport aircraft, damaging 5 more. 
#Ukraine: 2. UA says it now controls 1,263sqkm (488 sqmiles) of RU territory. RU, amidst #Kursk incursion, has also issued a security alert for #Bryansk & #Belgorod regions. #Zelensky visited his wounded troops in hospital today: (Map: Kyiv Independent)
