Democrats need to get *mean.* fucking nasty. the fundamental rules of political discourse have changed and we must adapt to them.

to the extent there’s connective tissue between the Dems who considerably outperformed Harris in competitive districts/states (Gallego, Gluesenkamp Perez, Ryan) it seems they all championed progressive policies while wrapping themselves in conservative cultural coding.
Ryan campaigned with AOC in the Hudson Valley but made a point to highlight his military service in every campaign ad. Gluesenkamp Perez co-sponsored a bill to protect medication abortion while constantly talking about her history as a flannel-clad car mechanic.
