From Crime Diversion into Employment:

A young man (D) sadly lost his mum who died suddenly. Overnight he became head of the house & carer for his nan.
Overwhelmed with grief & responsibility he committed two relatively minor crimes, was charged & pleaded guilty.
2/5 Fortunately, the judge understood his crimes were completely out of character & were driven by tragedy & desperation so sentenced D to a community order.
Part of the order required D to enrol in & engage with a crime diversion scheme.
The scales of justice are meant to be measured and balanced, neither lenient nor tough.
Revenge and Retribution are not justice.
