It's not too late to apply to @PGSFellowship! This program was designed specifically for Black students who currently have no working experience in aerospace to get started on their careers.

Please apply today and spread the word! Deadline is Halloween!

pgsfellowship.org/apply @PGSFellowship Our inaugural @PGSFellowship class worked on amazing projects. They launched rockets and satellites, flew electric aircraft, built prototypes, wrote important national policy recommendations, and so much. For each and every one of them, this was their very first job in aerospace. I'm looking for a new @virginorbit teammate to help lead our communications with the public & the press.

It's been >2 years since we've posted a new job that reports directly to me. I'm excited to meet a diverse slate of candidates!

careers-virginorbit.icims.com/jobs/6382/seni… @VirginOrbit Some things I find useful context for any job.

1) I don't have a candidate already in mind for this. It's truly an open req.

2) Space experience specifically is not a necessity. Some tech familiarity would be quite useful, though.

I am absolutely delighted to announce that I've worked with these incredible human beings to create a new non-profit project we've just announced: the @PGSFellowship. We are working hard to do for racial equality in aerospace what the @owensfellowship has done for gender equality Pictures of the founders of the Patti Grace Smith Fellowship I'd love to tell you about the program, its superhero origin story, my awesome co-founders, and the incredible aerospace companies & institutions who are making this possible. I'd also like to ask your help in spreading the word to the students who will benefit from this program.

Space friends: maybe it's time we had a talk about the fact that one of NASA's main campuses is named after a person who has been called "the heart, soul, and brains of the white supremacist caucus in the 1948 Congress.”

NASA has 9 centers, not including headquarters or JPL (which is awesome, and which is sometimes counted as a NASA center), as well as ~9 other major facilities. You can find the full list here:

Haven’t done one of these in a while, but brace yourself: incoming GIF-laden Tweetstorm!

Today’s topic: what to do if you are on the sidelines of the aerospace industry, wishing you could get in. I sure as heck don’t have all the answers, but Imll share what I’ve got. Let me begin by saying that those of us in the aerospace community already are super lucky. As a general rule; we are living out our childhood dreams and doing something with long-lasting purpose.

It ain’t easy—sometimes, it is really, really hard—but it’s worth it.
