1/ When former President Donald Trump stepped onstage at a Pennsylvania campaign rally on Saturday, dozens of journalists were waiting with anticipation for something newsworthy – on the ground and remotely. Maybe he’d announce his VP pick? 2/ Not even 10 minutes later, gunshots rang out. Journalists across the world leapt to action to get the facts, and report the story for an audience yearning for updates. Some journalists began to piece together a visual timeline. Others pulled up the LexisNexis database, voter services websites and public databases of individual political contributions.Image
