My god. The visa rules are even more sensationally stupid than they appear. When most migrants (not just partners of British citizens) next renew their visas, they must all earn a minimum of £38,700 else they'll get booted out.

This'll be a human and an economic catastrophe. Image So any migrant in the UK currently and earning less than £39K is now potentially at risk, unless they can increase their income before they need to extend their visa next. Madness.

Found this 2013 report on GovUK about the benefits of an FTA between Ukraine and the EU.

Sorry...the nerd in me is laughing so hard. Why?! Coz the UK's trade agreement with the EU is quite literally the very inverse of this!

So good I had to do a thread...

1/6 the reports busts some misconceptions. First one: that Ukraine signing an comprehensive FTA with the EU will prevent it signing agreements with other countries.

(contrast this with the falsehoods the UK govt has been claiming)

I'll start a political advertising "tricks" thread in case it helps local action groups / parties / candidates.

1. If the goal is to bring new voters onboard, don't focus on your opposition's figurehead. For Lab/LDem/Green, this means don't run ads with Johnson's mug on it. Why? Because that entrenches division especially on social media, e.g. Facebook. So when Johnson's supporters see your ads (they will, even if you don't target them), there will be comment fights.

And too many arguments on a thread dissuade reluctant voters from switching.
