The more I consider the details from the scam article, the less plausible I find them. Certain things she claims don't really ring true. I think a much more plausible version of events is she got caught in a romance scam and is trying to hide it from her husband
I'm not saying it couldn't have happened that way but the scammer she described really allowed for many points of failure (withdrawing 50k without a bank flag, sending someone physically to pick up the money, etc). Just seems fishy
