I wanna talk about Pokemon, specifically, the outrage, and how these moments in gaming are leaking into a lot of new releases.
That is to say, people cant have valid complaints, and missing some of your old favs is a fair complaint.
But using that one piece of criticism to denounce an entire game as "awful", "downhill", or "lazy" is something I've seen a lot of recently in games.
Which isnt really fair. Games are a culmination of parts that make them flow together.

Lets talk about @SonicFox5000 award speech last night. He was excited, nervous and proud of who he is as a person, not just a gamer.
Of course now there is a large group of people asking why does it matter that he's gay, & black? How does a person's identity impact competition?
Gamers have this idea that society and the real world has no impact on competitive gaming, and that gaming is this meritocracy (definition below).
