1/ Students/scholars of USG #informationwarfare, info ops, and the like might want to turn to PSAs - literal (and legal) government domestic #propaganda campaigns - to build and theories of messaging influence. /more #irregularwarfare
2/ Many PSAs were multi-media campaigns, which facilitates a kind of reverse-engineering of messaging intent, target audience analysis, and so forth. Just as importantly, some - and here I have no real feel for how many - have AARs that assess effectiveness. /more
1/ Let's talk language capabilities. If one is serious about "influence," messaging has to be comparatively sophisticated for anything more than "get fresh water at Grid Square 1234."
