"O Almighty God. who art a strong tower of defence unto thy servants against the face of their enemies; We yield thee praise and thankſgiving for the wonderful deliverance of these Kingdoms from The Great Rebellion, and all the miseries and oppressions consequent thereupon, under which they had so long groaned. We acknowledge it thy goodness, that we were not utterly delivered over as a prey unto them; beseeching thee still to continue such thy mercies towards us, that all the world may know that thou art our Saviour and mighty Deliverer; through Jesus

Vladimir Soloviev: "For lack of an Imperial power genuinely Christian and Catholic, the Church has not succeeded in establishing social and political justice in Europe. The nations and states of modern times, freed since the Reformation from ecclesiastical surveillance, have attempted to improve upon the work of the Church. I’ve read a Tweet that affects me deeply, and so I must give some important advice. In 2014, my mother fell and broke her hip. She made it clear to my brother and me that she did NOT want a DNR. My older brother got power of attorney, and she went into hospital. She was there for Eight months. During that time they pressured us constantly to sign a DNR - they threatened, lied, and cajoled. All to no effect: two times over the course of her stay she was revived; the day before she died we had a very lovely time, and she and I sang our last duet together.

An important thing to remember when you attempt to evangelise those of “alternative spiritual persuasions” is that a major way they are able to avoid engaging with Faith is a mental image of Catholics composed partly of the Inquisition, and partly of repressive and annoying nuns. For such folk, the impression that Catholics are a bunch of nasty fault finders trying to ferret out imaginary demons is a comforting one, that allows them to ignore what the Faith actually. But if one can avoid living down to their expectations, and show them, for instance, that
