Short thread on probiotics post antibiotics:

As with all nutrition topics, there has been inconsistent/conflicting results re: using antibiotics post probiotics, some studies claiming recovery is hastened. In clinical practice, I have found probiotics to improve digestive discomfort and symptoms post antibiotics. I believe this also has to do with quality of probiotics, as quality of any supplement is paramount to its effectiveness.

I still have to explain to people that saturated fat doesn't cause heart disease. The studies that say they do are poor quality/mis-interpreting the evidence.

Biggest nutrition pet peeve: claims of plant foods containing Vitamin A. Plant foods contain beta-carotene (provitamin A), which has some capacity to convert (can be very minor), and it is not the fate of all carotene to convert. Retinol/retinoic acids = biologically active = from animal foods only. "profound effects on the body and influence cell differentiation, development and immune function.
Retinol, and only retinol, makes up light absorbing units in the retina of the eye. It is required for vision"

Spiritual wisdom thread

This thread will likely not resonate with most people, and I do not expect most people that follow me to understand it. I have to keep it general for this platform. A few years ago, I started showcasing more of my personality tweeting on various topics important to me instead of strictly tweeting about nutrition. Spirituality is a huge part of my life, but it doesn’t lends itself to tweets as easily.
