My initial response when this first came about was that while I sympathized with Ms. Hunt's ideal of expanding the bounds of freedom regarding sex, her critics (particularly pro-sex work feminists) were just as absolutely correct in pointing out its limitations & complications.

This kind of tone deaf and dense response to a legitimate gripe gives "sex-positivism" a really bad name.

Suicide and depression are serious issues, but probably NOT related to lack of sex.

Also....you think women don't have depression or suicidal thoughts, or need of sex? There is and should be no "entitlement" to sex. By men, women, or anyone else.

For the benefit of those not in the know: I have been off of work these past five months on sick leave due to recurring dizziness and hypoglycemia that has seriously affected my ability to work.

I have been using disability leave from my job for my paycheck replacement. Every time I file for an extension of my leave and for disability pay, the firm that processes my disability requires updated paperwork from my personal doctor on my condition before they release my disability pay for the two week pay period of work I am missing.

Ahhhh, yes.

I told my landlord of the situation regarding my disability pay & the delay in paying my rent, and he went OFF on me. "No more excuses, pay up by Thursday morning or you are OUT OF HERE!!!", he basically said.

Gonna need that $300 real soon. Even though I brought the paperwork to my doctor early in order to avoid this, they still managed to dwadle and delay to the point that I won't get my disability biweekly check this week.

This is the kind of myopia from loyalist Democrats who have no sense of distinguishing talking points from actual reality.

Let us go down the line one by one and refute this.

1/ 1) Universal Healthcare

GOQP: "Personal responsibility" and privatized system w/ vouchers & full freedom of price gouging for Big Insura/Big Pharma

Democrats: Partially privatized, publicly subsidized system via Rombamacare, price gouging tempered by subsidies

When Democrats control the House and Senate, they allow their leadership and right-wing to savage and throttle and destroy any and all "progressive" legislation, while using the GOQP as a crutch and gaslighting the Left for "excessive expectations" and "purity". Then, when the backlash results in the GOQP taking power and reinforcing the policies ConservaDems wanted anyway, Democrats scapegoat the Left for the former's losses to justify lurching further Right, all the while moaning about the Left's lack of loyalty and support.
