I can not endorse Michael Butler for Chair. I chose to stay completely silent to “get through the election” but the toxicity, inaction, and ineptitude must be called out. I’m wrong in not doing it right away. In likelihood he will be re-elected but not without my dissenting voice

Much of the legislation you are seeing in statehouses throughout the country comes from one place. No, not ALEC. Project Blitz, a christian nationalist bill mill. They’ve been orchestrating a take over of local government for a generation. And it has largely worked.🧵
Here is an explainer on their goals and in retrospect, some of their achievements. I’m going to take this opportunity to introduce you to @C_Stroop ,who is one of the leading minds and voices on christian nationalism. 2/x
The Missouri Democratic Party state committee meets Saturday and in our agendas we received a bylaws change. I’ve long been very open about my feelings about compulsory paid dues for state committee members. There shouldn’t be any, but the change being made here isn’t that one.
It’s prohibiting members from voting if they are not in good standing, but this year and previous years. Now I’m all about pulling your weight and being part of the team but the $500 for executive committee is and has always been out of reach for me and I know I’m not alone.

I'm one of the people who need the extended/enhanced UI benefits to support myself right now. The job I lost was a professional one that paid pretty well and had really good benefits. I'm 33 years old and childless and I'm behind on everything they won't come and get. 1/x
I've applied for job after job after job and have rarely even heard back with an auto-generated rejection. I cannot imagine the anguish of worrying about feeding children today. I have no idea what I'm going to do, but I can tell you I know I'm in better shape than many. 2/x
