What will happen if we apply the newly created Ashʿari/Maturidi criteria of book authentication against their own books? The books of the Salaf against the Jahmiyyah are hated by the Ashāʿirah because they're refuted by them, that's why they used to imprison people for reading them.

However, today their creed isn't protected by the governments, and technology made these books accessible to people.
