I am disappointed with @BrianKempGA Georgia’s decision to reopen some businesses next week, restaurants/theaters to follow, and to let shelter in place expire April 30th. This decision ignores public health guidance & science, and lives will be put at risk unnecessarily. (1/4) Just as my ER Dr husband and I were discussing the weeks ahead and hoping for him to move back into our house and hold our newborn-who has lived longer apart from her dad than she ever did with him-our plans will likely change as we expect cases to increase in coming weeks. My spouse is a physician in the emergency dept, and is actively treating #coronavirus patients. We just made the difficult decision for him to isolate & move into our garage apartment for the foreseeable future as he continues to treat patients. (1/5) We have a 3 wk old newborn and 2 young kids and just can’t risk it. It pains me to wonder how many weeks will go by that he won’t get to hold our new baby or see our older kids. This is one example of the sacrifice that healthcare workers are making for our communities. (2/5)
