Growing up, I went to a mostly black elementary and middle school. When I went to a mostly white high school in the suburbs, some of my white classmates actually told me, "You're the whitest black kid I know" because I acted differently to their expectations. It sticks with you. I'll never forget the time when I was at a track meet and I overheard two of my teammates (!!!) reading the list of names for an event.

Person 1: Who is [my name]?
Person 2: The n*gger.

Right as it rolled off his tongue, hard R and all, we lock eyes.

Well, it looks like white conservative Twitter found my tweet about black conservatives and are foaming at the mouth over 'racism'. They're...really mad about this.

Let's have a chat./

-B First, I want to say that I never said I had a problem with *all* black conservatives. The ones saying that are openly lying or reading "I have a problem with black conservatives" and shutting off their brains before reading the rest of the tweet.

This is why we laugh at the comments from people who either
-agree with what was posted and get mad that their opinions were called racist
-think that racism is just whatever the dictionary says, even though dictionaries are notorious for oversimplifying usage.

Yay, thread!

-B Lots of white people care more about being called a racist than not saying racist things. They'll do anything to make it about them instead of marginalized groups, often to the point of denying their problems altogether (example: white feminism).

"Saying rap isn't real music isn't racist"

We're still getting replies like this a week later, so this deserves a thread. Sit back, this one's gonna be a lot./

-B Rap music has always been a historically black genre. With the rise of gangsta rap in the 90s, it was demonized, treated as something dangerous to the public eye because of the lyrics that seemed to "glorify violence.
