I sincerely believe that arguing/pushing for the conviction that one can change their gender is damaging for the trans community. One reoccurring (and what looks like the most iterated argument against trans people and our existence) is that "you can't change your gender"... but I do not see how this could not be turned to our advantage, being an argument that would solidify our claim to validity.

T4T can be (but isn't always and doesn't have to be) quite transphobic and chaser-esque in its nature.
