Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa, who was to become the Chief Election Commissioner next year, a year before UP elections, is all set to join Asian Development Bank as Vice President.
What's unusual in the story? Check the thread.
His early exit, after the retirement of CEC Sunil Arora next year would give Sushil Chandra a shot at the top post.
Appointment to Manila based ADB happens with recommendation/approval of the Central Govt even if Lavasa had applied for it.

And the sufferer this time around was SD Burman. People praised RD to a higher pinnacle than his father. RD was upset. That day was 1st October, 1974, his father’s birthday. RD’s mother Meera said to him, ‘Come home tonight without fail’.

It's important for Modiji to understand that when the country appears to be teetering on the edge of another war with china, it's not 'anti-national' to ask questions. The opposite is true. When soldiers are battered to death. questions will be asked.
This time the PM has been unusually reticent, but those 'proud to be followed by Modi' on Twitter have not. Like the BJP spokesmen they have hurled abuse at anyone who has dared ask questions about why 20 Indian soldiers were killed so brutally. 'This is a time for nationalism'..

China was furious with India as it gave political asylum to Dalai Lama of Tibet in 1959 n allowed him to run his govt from exile from Dharamshala.
Nehru was not afraid of hosting Dalai Lama then. He paid the price by fighting the war in 1962 but could not be bullied by China.
Nehru died a sad man in 1964 after doing so much for India. Just because of one war in which he didn't lie or shy away from fighting.
Just a year later, India faced Pakistan in war in 1965 and defeated them decisively under Lal Bahadur Shastri. India's foundation was strong.
