Regardless of your gender identity, my hope is that you divest from the cisheteropatriarchy. You can’t win. You will never be man enough or women enough within these systems of oppression. Our nonbinary siblings fiercely remind us of this truth all of the time. Your more normative gender experience won’t save you, boo. We have to dismantle all of this shit.

Anybody saying gender-neutral pronouns (or pronouns of any type) are a new concept is serving gaslighter realness. If it were so new, you wouldn’t be so well-versed in the same basic ass ignorant excuses, jokes, and talking points. BFFR! And anyone with even a nanosecond of experience in or near the LGBTQ+ community is familiar with gender nonconformity. Just say you want some “I’m not like the rest of these queers” validation and goooooo...

The funny thing is TERFs love to claim that trans women want to be them so bad, but like baby, no one wants to be that insecure and threatened.

If your experience as a bigoted cis woman is the way, the truth & the light, you shouldn’t have to go through such lengths to prove it. The idea that trans women, in particular, are not “real women” because we don’t have certain reproductive organs or experiences doesn’t just strip us of our womanhood, but it strips plenty of cis women of theirs as well.

Dave Chappelle represents a segment of society (along with white supremacists, hoteps, incels, and others) that is anxious about the waning power of cisheteronormativity and the patriarchy. 🧵 People like him know that their outdated, limited view of the world is obsolete, and instead of transforming in the name of empathy and humility, they lean into toxicity.

Today is the sixth anniversary of Blake Brockington’s death by suicide. This forever-young (18 years old) Black trans man’s story is a testament to why we must support, encourage, and #ProtectTransYouth as they come into their identity. Blake became an activist after being elected North Carolina’s first openly trans high school homecoming king a year before his death in 2015.

A white supremacist system will jump at any chance to rule out white supremacy as the problem. It is reckless as hell to strip the victims of the recent Atlanta shootings of their identities, especially when we know there has been an increase in anti-Asian hate, vitriol, and violence since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s easy for cis folk to call out J.K. Rowling’s transphobia + not acknowledge their own. How do you make trans folks lives less violent outside of that? How do you shift the institutions you’re a part of so they’re less transphobic? How do you support trans leaders? I liken it to the black squares debacle a month ago, when companies weren’t acknowledging how they are complicit in and benefit from white supremacy. We all wanted to know what they were going to do beyond that, and I ask the same here.

If you are not ready to move aside and elevate Black and brown trans and queer leadership, don't invoke the names of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera this #PrideMonth. Last #PrideMonth, I wrote about the LGBTQ+ community has never adequately dealt with how white supremacy, imperialism, capitalism, and other systems of oppression have corroded the aims of those original frontliners. out.com/pride/2019/5/3…

Just to put things in reference... it was 5 years ago today that I came out publicly as trans and everything changed. #NationalComingOutDay Love to folks who can live openly as who they are, all those yearning too and all those who may never get a chance to. #NationalComingOutDay

THREAD: Black transgender folks have been leaving their mark here for generations. There are some known Black trans folks from the 1800s, and most of them are only known because transphobia was even more widespread then.
