1)She was always considered a very independent girl/slave 2)she had incredibly adult responsibilities as a child bc she was trusted and a self-starter, two qualities that would eventually lead her and many others to freedom

THREAD: A white lady approached my husband at the store the other day & stared at him until he felt moved to ask her if they knew each other. She said, "I just wanted to say I'm sorry" & then gave a little speech about him feeling welcome in our community. I appreciate the sentiment behind it (she just doesn't know what else to do, I suppose) and he did too but please, white people, don't do this. We've never even thought twice about belonging here. Had a very interesting hour long conversation with my dentist. She’s an immigrant and self employed. Newsom voter. Told me she loved what Trump did last night. She’s sick of the lockdowns killing her practice & she’s sick of Dems allowing lawlessness. She’s voting Trump in Nov I was so fascinated when she said - I liked what Trump had to say last night (she knows what I do for work so felt safe talking about it). I asked in surprise - really?And she spent an hour talking to me about how she has done everything Dem govt has asked & stil being punished

THREAD 1. I don't want to hear one more person say "I hate watching black conservatives fight. They're on the same side&need to focus on fighting the left". We're not a bunch of frigging babies who need mom&dad to keep us from being mean to each other. We're not even a "group" 2.We are individuals who agree on many things pertaining to race and culture but who also have very different life experiences and world views. We don't need to form any kind of line, we're all intelligent, thinking human beings. We're expressing ideas.

Thread: California is under extreme threat from this virus. Everything our gov't has been doing for the last decade has weakened us to an incredibly frightening degree. Prop 47 released thousands of criminals into the streets & where do they go? Nowhere. They stay in the streets You can't even arrest someone who is stealing less than $950 worth of goods if they're doing it right in front of a police officer. Homeless encampments are everywhere. Human urine and feces...everywhere. Diseases like typhus have already broken out

Ppl thought my mom should abort me bc biracial families were rare at the time. "What about the child?" was a popular refrain. Well, I am the the child ppl asked "What about the child?" about& my life was hard growing up but I certainly enjoyed being alive & continue to do so I put myself thru college, married a nice boy & we have two lovely children, who also presumably enjoy being alive. I've traveled, enjoyed an eclectic career path, volunteered, made good friends...my life has been full&certainly worth living. What about the child?...

My unsolicited theory on Meghan Markle (aided by @AmeliaHammy observations)...MM always wanted to be famous. There are many stories about her scheming to get on reality shows or get matched up with controversial celebrities just for some publicity. When she met Harry (and I do believe it's a love match, she's not faking) she finally found the pathway to global fame and wasn't NOT going to take it. The problem is that when you join the royal family that type of fame is grossly restricted.

Thread: Ya booed the POTUS while he was enjoying America's pastime, you assault ppl w/red hats as if it's justice, you wanna mutilate the healthy bodies of boys who decided they like the color pink one day, erase womanhood on the altar of the trans trend... You want to ban certain words and make other words mandatory, effectively killing the first amendment. You want us to believe the world is ending in 12..no, 10 yrs...no, 18 months bc of Americans doing things like living and breathing every day...

1. That hilarious @TheBabylonBee headline about clicks got me thinking...there are a lot of people out there who don't understand that most of us who make our living on the internet earn it through your clicks. 2. We design our headlines to catch your eye, but we really want you to click on the story. Of course we want you to read (and hopefully appreciate) what we wrote...but we also want to get paid for what we wrote.
