This is Honorable Baffa Aliyu Misau. I knew this man when I was an undergraduate student in ATBU Bauchi. He was a state assembly member at that time. Today, he represents Misau/Dambam Federal Constituency. Something that caught my attention about him was his unrelenting

support to his constituents regarding their academic endeavor. I remember at that time, he was giving scholarship to some of our friends that had 3.50 CGPA & above, what was enough to pay their tuition fee & some pocket money every semester. That has supported a lot that today

Dear Ladies,

Please take it easy with so many of us, especially lately. Husbands are going through a lot, especially with the inimical economic situation in the country. Nobody says you shouldn't ask for your rights. But please be considerate. This young man sent me DM some days ago. He has been a fan whom we have been following each other with for long on Twitter. I am posting this with his knowledge. His wife of 7 years, & mother to his two kids has been given him hell since he lost his job last year. He isn't a lazy man, so he still goes out to make

A Series of Reminders About The Month of Ramaḍān - No.3

A Widespread Weak Du'ā For Ifṭār

As Ramaḍān is approaching, something I would like to bring to attention is the Du'ā at the time of Ifṭār (breaking fast) which is common and widespread amongst people, 🚫 “Allaahuma Laka Ṣumtu Wa ‘Alaa Rizqika Afṭartu” (O Allāh I fasted for you and I broke it upon which you’ve provided me with) 🚫

This Du'ā has been declared weak by Muḥaddithīn such as Ibn Ḥajar, an-Nawawī, adh-Dhahabī, Ibn al-Qayyim, ash-Shawkānee, al-Albānī and others.

Dear Artisans,

Are you an auto mechanic, a brick layer, carpentar, plumber or even a cobbler? You are an important part of the entire value chain, hence everyone that has an issue related to your skills would come to you. If you do good, you benefit & the society also benefits. If you decide to be dishonest, cony & deceptive, the first person that loses is you. That person that brings his car to you for repairs does so on trust. Why cheat the person or swindle him of his resources after he pays you for your services? That man or woman that wants to fix

Do you know that Carbon Fire Market would be worth $8.9 Billion by 2031?

Reminds me of the story of a 24 year old Nigerian, Mr. Jerry Malum, an indigene of Plateau State Nigeria.

A report on "Carbon Fiber Market by Raw Material (PAN, Pitch), Fiber Type (Virgin, Recycled), Product Type, Modulus, Application (Composite, Non-composite), End-use Industry (A & D, Automotive, Wind Energy) and Region - Global Forecast to 2031", is expected to grow

One day, we will have time to discuss the Nigerian Renumeration System, especially in public offices. The minimum wage, the desparity in payments across government agencies & how to make amends.

In Malaysia, a PhD holder is being paid a minimum amount regardless of where he/she works. The minimum is RM7,000 (equivalent to ₦750,000). It doesn't matter if he teaches in a university, a secondary school or a university. There would be additional allowances depending on the place of work. Today, NO Nigerian Professor earns ₦600k a month!

It calls for serious concern & a sober reflection. Largely, one can relate this to injustice in the system which refuses to enact paths to bridge the increasing gap. The extent of this can be seen even between salary earners. Two people with the same degree, same class of degree, probably the same course from the same university, but while one takes home ₦1,000,000 home monthly, the other one takes ₦120,000. This is a true situation I have seen in Abuja, among two friends, both offices also in the same Abuja & in the same sector. This is unjust.

Dear Northern Governors, @elrufai @KBStGovt @DrZSB @hadizel @GovUmarGanduje @GovernorMasari @LalongBako,

We appreciate your position in upholding the unwritten agreement your party @OfficialAPCNg had with @Official_ABAT on zoning the presidential ticket to Southern Nigeria. As Malam Elrufai said, it is our culture in the North to ensure that agreements are upheld. This will be remembered in history as an Honorable thing to do. However, we all know that, & heard recently when Asiwaju said that he supported President Buhari on a condition that

How a Make-believe lifestyle thwarts many of us

Many people today have their goals blocked or frustrated by their own selves. You adopt a lifestyle that you are very sure is fake, yet you dream of achieving something genuine out of it. How is that possible? It is a common thing today to see people that cannot live genuine lives even though they don't find the fake life funny. We all want to do what others do, even though we are not the same; we do not earn the same, not are we of the same background. At the end, truth takes over.

Sometimes, out of ignorance, people think that standing before a leader in public & either enjoining him to do good or forbid him from doing evil is a sign of heroism. To worsen the situation, activists full of ignorance of the religion think religion is activism. Islamic scholars are learned people. Allah Has given them the best of knowledge that you can't pick on the streets. Thus, they use that knowledge as a guide, even though they are human & they make mistakes, yet they're obviously better than those who lack the knowledge/guidance.

THE GLORIOUS QUR’AN ❤️❤️

Jibreel (AS) brought the message of the Glorious Qur’an, & by that became the leader of all the Angels, & was named: The Reliable Spirit.

Muhammad (SAW) was given the message of the Qur’an, & by that became the best of all Prophets & messengers. The nation (Ummah) of Muhammad (SAW) has the Glorious Qur’an revealed unto it, & by that it became the best nation.

The Night of Decree (Qadr) had the Glorious Qur’an revealed in it, & by that it became the best of all nights.

Do you still start your day with social media before you recite the Qur'an? Are you in the habit of picking your phone first & browsing through messages before you even pray Fajr, make morning Azkar & recite the Glorious Qur’an?

Change the habit. Let the most important things come first. Those that are less important can come later.

Do you know that the fastest way to receive Allah's Rahma is via the recitation of the Quran?

Imam al-Laithi (RH) was reported to have said:

There's nobody who receives blessing faster than one listening the Quran.

Immediately after NYSC, just before I picked my first Job, I asked my Dad to loan me N1, 000,000 to start business of buying & selling grains from Udawa Market to Buruku, to Birnin Gwari weekly markets. He was surprised that I could think in that direction. He gave me the money. I made a second class upper degree in Petroleum Engineering, & among the top 4 in my class. Yet, I decided to look for a way to take my responsibility off the shoulders of my parent whom have trained me tirelessly from Nursery to 1st degree. I started the business as planned.

Dear Husbands,

The same manner Allah would question us about our Salat, Fasting & other dealings of worship, so He would question us about the rights our wives have over us.

Her rights to feeding, right to companionship, rights to accommodation, right to sexual satisfaction, rights to education, rights to happiness, & any other right.

It is possible that someone would scale through in the aspects of his Salat, Fasting, Hajj but go to hellfire if he fails to satisfy the rights of the wife. Do you remember the Hadith of Al-Muflis (The Bankrupt?)

Dear Northern Leaders,

Where's your sense of shame?

Many of us had our reservations when Former President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan built the Almajiri Schools.

"Some Governors Weren’t Happy When I Built Almajiri Schools - Jonathan @GEJonathan"

akelicious.net/some-governors… What remains painful is, years after what have we done as a people, and as Northern elites to address this menace? Is it right to say that so far, no Nigerian leader has expressed genuine concern over this killer issue than has done GEJ?

The prevalence of soot in Port Harcourt is, as a matter of urgency, a national emergency that requires the attention of the govt, at state & federal level. The oil rich state is in the midst of a terrible environmental crisis that if not handled will affect the lives of many. Image The existence of illegal refineries, pipeline vandalization, burning of tyres in abattoirs have presented a life threatening situation through the release of black carbon emission that is gradually replacing the oxygen people live on.
