1/ The Old Testament present in Muhammad's time is the same one we have access to today. In fact, the OT hasn't meaningfully changed from the version circulating a century before Jesus. This poses theological problems for Islam, as I see it. 2/ First, let's consider the narrative found in later Islamic sources (but not in the Qur'an itself), that the *written* scriptures of the Jews and Christians have been changed. 1/ Today, I was reminded of why speaking out publicly about leaving Islam is so important. A childhood friend who was super-involved at the mosque (for decades) had left religion ~10 yrs ago. He thought he was alone. He suffered through that journey all alone, of all these years. 2/ Then, in 2019, he came across my 'Coming Out' video about why I had decided to leave Islam & Ahmadiyyat, and do so publicly. He reached out. I introduced him to a community of former Ahmadis and even wider than that, a community of former Muslims.

Thread on hijab, abuse, and choices.

I think you've got some false equivalency going on here.

If I give the presentation of being rational and objective, might it have anything at all to do with my efforts to focus on ideas, and to even give credit to some ideas in a belief system that I have left behind? /1 You couch your remarks as if to give my approach a somewhat sinister connotation.

Would you prefer I use profanity or attack people in ad-hom fashion, so it would be easier for Ahmadi Muslims to discredit anything I have to say? /2
