If you want someone to run for President independent or third party (a goal I agree with), consider:

-How will they raise tens of millions of dollars?
-Where will they get campaign staff who know what they’re doing? (This is hard enough as it is on non-corporate Dem campaigns.) -What field tool — that non-Dems are allowed to use — is robust enough to handle the voter files of 50+ states and territories, has integrated phone dialing and texting, integrates with volunteer tracking software and fundraising software?

Elon Musk has enough money to end homeless and hunger, but instead he wants to buy Twitter. Tax him because no single individual should have the power so much money buys. Fund publicly owned housing.

We made 900,000+ calls.

1,000,000+ voter contact attempts, including pre-pandemic canvassing.

We raised more than all of Rep. Kilmer's challengers from all parties in the last 3 cycles combined.

And we did while facing an absolutely astonishing media blackout, to the extent... ...that a local paper wrote an article about a male candidate who was *thinking* about running and then another article about how — BREAKING NEWS — he was no longer *thinking* about running. But nothing about me.

THREAD: Thank you to James Bible, Manuel Ellis' family's attorney, for giving us input on our Black Lives Matter platform.

While I'm running for federal office, here are some of the local issues I am using my platform as a candidate to support ⬇️

rebeccaforwa.com/black-lives-ma… -Terminate and prosecute the officers involved in Ellis’ killing.

-Given the mishandling of the Ellis case and lack of community trust, deny TPD accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

THREAD: On my AMA yesterday, someone asked what I want to change in WA-06. Here was my answer:

1) Ensuring the tribes in our district don’t have to keep moving upland because of rising sea levels, which is a tremendous loss of the places they’ve lived since time immemorial. 2) Ensuring people in low-income housing complexes in Aberdeen don’t have sewage wash up on their sidewalks every time the river floods (which will happen more with climate change).

3) Ensuring people in Tacoma don’t have ashes falling from the sky due to far-away wildfires.

THREAD As one of many #WomenForBernie, I'd like to share what a platform that addresses sexism looks like. I envision a society where women — including Black women, Native women, poor women, lesbian and queer women, disabled women, immigrant women, Muslim women & trans women /1 — are able to live the lives they dream of. Whether that means advancing their career, nurturing a family, pursuing an education or passion, or all of the above. We must remove systemic injustice to make that happen. /2

I grew up hearing almost nothing about unions. I've never had a union job & I've lived much of my life in financial precarity, afraid of losing my job at any time. Not having anyone to back you up is alienating and scary.

We need to unionize the nation.

To that end, I support: ✅ Making it easier to form and join a union through measures such as a majority sign up process.
✅ Enacting “first contract” provisions so that employers cannot prevent union formation via endless stalling.
