Checking out See Do Write! Language is caught not taught, love that. #atia2021 Linguistic Overprotection—students given simplified language or none at all. Deaf kids didn’t know words for veg because they were described or when they missed the name, were told it wasn’t important. Class then made veg and self-advocacy books. #atia2021

I love that the AAC strand has multiple presentations centered on diversity. I hope to see other strands build on that. #ATIA2021 This stems from a graphic created by PrAACtical AAC last fall. This is so important.
