Jack Greenwell - Durham miner and the longest-serving manager in the history of @FCBarcelona.

While manager of @SantaFe, he died in Bogota #OnThisDay in 1942.

The #DurhamMiners Association was founded at a meeting in the Market Tavern #OnThisDay in 1869.

Within six years, the first miners hall was opened in the city's North Road.

By 1913, the union’s membership had grown to more than 150,000, and the DMA needed a new home. (1/3) Work was completed on 'The New Hall and Offices of the Durham Miners' Association' in October 1915. It became known as 'Redhills'.

The mission begun at the Market Tavern continued at Redhills. (2/4)
